Improvement of the existing sports complex in Aquin

Improvement of the existing sports complex into a social, recreational, athletic and teaching center for the youth of Aquin. There is an existing sports complex, “Parc Sportif Dupin Castor Fils”, in Aquin, Haiti which includes a soccer field, a basketball, and tennis court. The main purpose of this project is to develop this complex into a social, recreational, athletic, and teaching center for the youth of Aquin. The sports complex was originally erected in 1989 by the Doctor Aldy Castor for the youth of Aquin and is currently managed by the Haitian Resource Development Foundation, a non-profit, non-governmental organization. Profits from activities of the complex are reinvested in either the sports complex or/and the community. Dr. Castor had acquired more land to expand this existing complex to add:
  • Two basketball/volleyball courts
  • Two tennis courts
  • More bleachers to the existing soccer field to accomodate 500 more spectators.
  • Two locker rooms with toilets and showers for male and female guests.
  • A second building for:
Activities involving ten networked computers in order to teach word processing, database technology, spreadsheet awareness, and multiple other facets of computer technology. Athletics of Haiti

Imagine how the eagle soars across the sky. His glide a graceful almost timeless encounter with heaven. Now, take a moment, only a moment to capture the essence of your eagle. Since 1995, Athletic of Haiti has aimed its efforts toward the underpriveleged youth of Haiti. This sports center located in Drouillard, at the oustskirt of Port-Au-Prince, Haiti’s capital ignites the energy of youth ranging from ages 7-20. Athletic of Haiti’s goal is to empower, motivate, lend discipline and challenge students weekly through athletic competition, a first for Haitians most underpriveleged arena. A dedicated staff of 30 operates the center 6 days a week (including school vacations) providing approximately 300 children with a hot meal. Funds from private donations and sponsorships assist with the cost of operation, which are approximately 10,000 US dollars a month. Physical education is practically unavailable within Haiti’s school system. Athletic of Haiti invisions plans of expansion which will offer tennis courts and an Olympic size swimming pool to accomodate more children. Imagine the spirit of these youngsters soaring into their hopes and dreams knowing the sky has no limit. Lack of opportunity systematically clips the wings of the uneducated and the underpriveleged. As a steadfast source of positive inspiration to the young of Haiti, Athletic Of Haiti extends opportunity, hope, and a chance to accomplish ones’ dreams.
